Leave a legacy
Planned giving means benefits for you now and for CCBC in the
future.
CCBC alumni, employees and supporters have already utilized a variety of planned
giving strategies to make significant contributions to the college …
More than 50 % of the citizens in USA will make a planned gift to an associated academic institution next year. Eighty per cent (80%) of these gifts will be in the form of bequests (cash), appreciated securities, real estate, or personal property. The Community College of Baltimore County is proud to offer our students, faculty, staff, alumni and the Baltimore County community the opportunity to make these types of gifts to CCBC. Our new charitable Gift Planning staff will describe several ways to make a donation that costs you nothing during your lifetime. Make us a beneficiary of your will, annuity or a trust and leave your cash flow and current financial planning uninterrupted.
Barry Feld '76
CCBC alumnus and CEO and president of Cost Plus World Market
Gift: Established a fund to support business and entrepreneurial
education programs at CCBC
Motivation: "I started thinking about the money troubles
my family had when I was a teenager … It occurred to me that community
college was a real life saver for me. It was a great start, and was – still
is – one of the best values in education. I'd like to help CCBC provide
that same kind of support to other students in similar situations."
Ileane Smith
Associate professor of Counseling at CCBC Essex
Gift: Bequest in her will to support scholarship and textbook
assistance for students
Motivation: "I had a full scholarship to college more
than 45 years ago. I have always believed that you have an obligation
to pay back … it doesn't have to be to the same person or in the same
way, but you must pay back. Whatever assistance I have given to
the students at the community college has been so very much appreciated."
Nicki Copinger '83
CCBC alumna and commodity chief at CCBC
Gift: Adam Copinger Memorial Scholarship, established in
1991 in memory of her son
Motivation: "I can’t begin to tell you how rewarding
it is to be a part of ensuring student success at CCBC. Fundraising is truly
a labor of love. Adam touched many hearts in his short time here. In his
memory; I work hard to continue to touch hearts through educational assistance.”

Chairman/CEO Kelly & Associates Insurance Group, Inc. and
former chairman, CCBC Board of Trustees
Gift:Established Francis X. Kelly Endowed Scholarship Fund,

Motivation: "In a perfect world, every young person
would have the opportunity to go to college. I’ve been blessed over
the years and I feel honored to be able to help someone else along the way.
No matter your background or circumstances, a quality education can help
you succeed."
